PTFA

Unfortunately, due to the COVID19 pandemic, there will be no whole school PTFA events. This will be reviewed later in the year.

Welcome to St Mary & St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School’s PTFA!

St Mary & St Joseph’s has a thriving Parent Teacher Friend Association (PTFA). We hope that all new members of St Mary & St Joseph’s community will join us to have fun and raise funds.

What does the PTFA do?

Our main aim is to raise funds that provide the school with extra resources and opportunities for the children. Beyond this, the PTFA exists to forge closer links between home and school. As a school, we pledge to give our pupils “amazing experiences” – and the PTFA plays a valuable role in this. We give away a number of our event tickets, to ensure that all families have the chance to take part in PTFA activities.

Our funds have contributed to:

o   Supporting transport costs for school trips

o    Providing hospitality for school events as well as prizes and gifts

o    Purchasing security bands, high visibility jackets and hats for school trips

o   Trophies, engraving and 100% attendance awards

o   Playtime equipment and a bench for the playground

o   Easter egg hunt

o   Y6 SATs breakfasts and hot dog hoolie

o   Y4 sleepover

o   PTA UK membership, insurance and licences

o   Leavers Crosses

How do we raise funds?

We host lots of events throughout the year, including:

Monthly cake raffles

Disco

Christmas Fair

Sports day family fun event

Second-hand uniform sales

Every PTFA event provides plenty of opportunities for parents, teachers, friends and children to get involved, raise funds, meet new people and enjoy time together.

How do I get involved?

There are lots of ways to get involved:

Attend our PTFA meetings and coffee mornings

Become a class rep

Volunteer at events

Volunteers needed!

We have a loyal, tireless and friendly bunch of volunteers at St Mary & St Joseph’s who make the PTFA what it is, but we always need more volunteers.

Things you can help with:

Run a stall at an event

Donate a raffle prize

Design or our event posters/flyers

Donate food and drinks for events

Bake cakes

Sell raffle tickets or event tickets

Help organize donations for events

Do some gardening at the school

Donate plants, pots, compost

We hope that you get involved with the PTFA – it’s a rewarding way to be part of a great school!
